by Stephen Wicks We get this question quite a bit. Well, to be honest, the answer will depend on many factors. One of the most important questions for a business person to ask is... "Who is my target market? Once you identify "who" you are trying to reach, then devising a road map to reach them is not as difficult as it may seem. Of course, these days you can't seriously ask that question without considering the incredible beast now called "social media." Social media makes it much easier for brands to reach their target markets in very relevant and persistent ways. With a little thought and effort, you can now become a part of your target market's daily life via platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, among others. In the old days, the only way to reach new customers was to either scream your message at them via traditional advertising or acquiring them through good ole fashioned "word of mouth." I personally love word of mouth advertising and I believe that social media allows word of mouth advertising to work at lighting speed. Just think of the latest viral photo or video that you've seen. THAT was word of mouth in hyper speed. The sharing of content or ideas now happen automatically as if it has a life of it's own.
So, if you have something of value... a service.. a product... ect, and it has VALUE, it will be shared. The power is now in the hands of the consumer. They decide what they want to watch and what they want to share. How do you market your service? Develop a product or service that people love and that they will want to share with their friends, family and associates. When you get that done you've hit the mother load. Your products or services will be shared by your adoring fans and clients who will rave about how awesome you are. That's it. That's my advice for today. Let's go out that and build awesome brands and give awesome customer experiences!
