13 Days Until The Start of Bootcamp: Today was a great day. The Iron Yard - Atlanta was the venue for a talk given by Jeff Levy entitled, "Using Lean Start-Up Techniques in the Real World."
Mr. Levy is a serial entrepreneur who has had a lot of success in the tech field. He currently is an adjunct professor at Georgia State University and is the Founder / Managing Director of Nektr.io Nektr is a technology company that focuses on Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Mixed Reality products. Pretty cool stuff.
His mini lecture was packed with information that could help anyone understand the benefits of using the lean start up model for launching new businesses. We gained a lot from his insight.
I met some very interesting people at the event who are involved in either the tech or entrepreneurial space in Atlanta. This was my first event that I attended at the Iron Yard and I can't wait for the next one. I'm considering an event this week. There are a lot of events happening in Atlanta since this is StartUp Week.

Podcasts are a challenging form of marketing as they rely upon building a fan base through content that is both informative and interesting. These are sound recordings, so you don't have the benefit of showing pictures or allowing customers to read something at their leisurely pace. Instead, you and your company must develop an idea within the imagination of your listeners.

RWD, or "responsive web design" as it is called in our industry, is the hottest trend right now in web design.
A website is considered to be "responsive" when it can detect if a visitor is on a large screen such as a laptop or on a small screen like when on a smart phone.
Ideally, your website should be able to serve the best version of itself to it's visitor so that your visitor can have a pleasant experience while browsing your website.
There is nothing more irritating to a website visitor than visiting a website on a phone or tablet and not being able to access the information that he or she is looking for.
Most of the time, a mobile visitor on a phone is on the go and needs information quickly. If they can't get that information easily from your website they will move on to a competitor. This is probably not what you want to happen. You can lose business and market share simply because you didn't take the time to understand how internet users are accessing the internet.
Companies like ours can quickly access your website and let you know what you should do to take advantage of responsive web design. Converting your website over to a responsive design will give you a competitive advantage and it will also make your website visitors a whole lot happier.
