​SWIDC's Social Boost Client Setup & Ownership Guide

Here is the documentation to help you get your social media accounts ready to work with our agency.  These are best practices.  If you want or need a different approach, don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Purpose

​This document describes how your business establishes its social media profiles, grants access for management, and retains ultimate ownership.

Key Terms

  • ​Owner: Your business entity, which controls the login, recovery email or phone number, and full administrative access.
  • Manager/Admin: SWIDC, a trusted partner granted permissions to manage content, settings, and analytics.
  • Handoff Date: A defined moment when your business may resume full internal control of the accounts.

Setup Overview

Your business will typically create one or more of the following profiles and then invite SWIDC as the administrative manager. The platforms include:
  • LinkedIn Business Page
  • Facebook Business Page
  • Instagram Business Profile
  • TikTok Business Account

​Creation and Access Details

​LinkedIn Business Page

👉 Create a LinkedIn page: ​https://www.linkedin.com/company/setup/new/​

​Creation steps
: Sign in with a personal LinkedIn profile. Go to the “Work” menu, select “Create a Company Page”, choose the appropriate type, enter your company name and public URL, upload a logo, select your industry, write a tagline, add a cover image, and complete the About section. Enable two-factor authentication and ensure the recovery contact is under your control.

Access setup: Within Page Admin settings, add SWIDC using the designated email address and assign the Page Admin role so management can begin.

Facebook Business Page

​👉 Create a Facebook business page: ​https://www.facebook.com/pages/create​

Creation steps: Log into or create a Facebook profile. Navigate to Pages → Create New Page. Enter the Page name, select the business category, write a short description, upload your logo and cover photo, and input business details such as website, phone number, and address. Enable two-factor authentication and keep recovery credentials secure.

Access setup: Using Meta Business Suite or Business Manager, go to Business Settings → Pages → Add People and add SWIDC as Admin or Editor. Confirm that your business remains the Page owner.

​Instagram Business Profile

👉 Create an Instagram business page: ​https://www.instagram.com/accounts/emailsignup/
(After creating the account, you can switch it to a Business Account in Settings → Account → Switch to Professional Account.)​

Creation steps: In the Instagram app, go to Profile → Menu → Settings → Account → Switch to Professional Account and choose “Business”. Select your business category, enter your contact email, phone number, and address (if applicable), upload a profile photo, ensure your username aligns with your brand, and link this profile to your Facebook Business Page. Enable two-factor authentication.

Access setup: Once the Instagram profile is linked to your Facebook Business Page, SWIDC can manage posting, scheduling, and analytics via Meta Business Suite after being added as Admin/Editor to that Page.

​TikTok Business Account

👉 Create a TikTok business account: ​https://www.tiktok.com/signup​

​Creation steps
: Download the TikTok app and create an account using your business email. In your profile, go to Menu → Settings & Privacy → Account → Switch to Business Account and select the relevant category. Optionally access the TikTok Business Center at business.tiktok.com. Complete your profile by entering your business name, handle, logo image, contact link, and website link. Enable two-factor authentication and ensure recovery contact is business-controlled.

Access setup: In TikTok Business Center, go to Account Management → Manage Access and invite SWIDC as Partner or Manager with permissions for content posting and analytics. Your business remains the primary owner of the account.

​Ownership and Handoff

​Your business will always own the social media profiles created. SWIDC will act only in a management role. At the agreed handoff date, full control may revert back to your company upon request from you. You retain the right to modify access or permissions at any time.

🔐 ​Security and Best Practices

  • Choose strong, unique passwords for each account.
  • Enable two-factor authentication wherever available.
  • Create accounts using a business-owned email rather than a personal free email.
  • Ensure recovery email and phone number remain under your business control.
  • Periodically review Admin and Manager assignments and remove any that are no longer required.
  • Maintain a secure record of account credentials, access roles and changes.

​Branding and Visual Consistency (SWIDC Standards)

​SWIDC will align your social media profiles with your website branding. This includes using your logo in high resolution, applying your brand’s color palette to profile and cover visuals, maintaining the same username/handle across platforms where possible and using consistent fonts, imagery and tone that reflect your website built by SWIDC.

What Happens Next

​After account creation and access grant, SWIDC will confirm setup and proceed with branding, configuration, and analytics implementation. Monthly reviews will follow to report performance and refine the strategy. As the handoff date approaches, SWIDC will provide a briefing so you are comfortable with full control if you choose.
